The event was attended by Rodrigo Galvão, Senior Vice President of Technology at Oracle in Latin America, as the day's keynote and the executive spoke about ESG's relationship with digital transformation. The event, which has translation into pounds, still has registrations available for its last day, which will be tomorrow, and will address the human fact when it comes to digital transformation.

The first round table of the meeting discussed the journey to sustainable income in the digital economy. Author of the book “New Economy: Understand why the entrepreneurial profile is swallowing the traditional Brazilian entrepreneur” and VP of Finance and Strategy at iFood, Diego Barreto highlighted the market opportunities that technology is bringing at the present time. “I think we are living in a magical moment. Brazil has always been very far from the technology development process, but what happens right now is the opposite. For the first time, we are seeing the integration of value chains and technology arrives in a more accessible way, which brings countless advantages for everyone”, explains Barreto. For Fernando Perobelli, Professor at the Faculty of Economics at UFJF, cited some factors that are in evidence at the moment, “the current economy has shown us that it is increasingly important to seek better working conditions, more security both in the supply of work and for the consumer, employee loyalty and also building a closer relationship with the worker”.

The inclusion was also highlighted by the speakers. Cid Torquato, president of ICOM, highlighted how the pandemic and remote work contributed to the inclusion of people with disabilities. “Many people were unable to leave their homes and were employed, and in some cases their venture took off at this very difficult time for everyone, but which opened doors and opportunities for millions of people”, says the executive. Igor Cordeiro, Director of Public Policies and Sustainability at Facily, highlighted the need for social inclusion, “we need to build a mechanism where the most popular groups can participate and at the same time be protagonists in this process”.

Thiago Camargo, Prospectiva's Technology Director and former National Policy Secretary, was the special interviewee of the day and spoke about regulatory efficiency in the technology sector. "As our lives become more digital, the regulation of the digital economy also becomes important, and along with technology, it is a necessary tool for medium and small businesses to become more resilient to the point of not failing during a pandemic ”, explains the entrepreneur.

The second panel of the event brought renowned industry leaders to talk about the urgency of tax reform for the current market moment. Jorge Sukarie, VP of ABES' Deliberative Council, “our legal uncertainty is so great that even if we opt for a more conservative option, we are still not absolutely sure that it was the best option for our business”. For Ana Claúdia Akie Utumi, PhD, CFP®, TEP® and Partner at Utumi Advogados, the Brazilian tax bureaucracy is still very complex, “companies in Brazil take longer to fulfill their obligations than in other countries”. And according to Washington Coelho, Tax Partner at EY, tax reform is necessary, but the whole process is very difficult. “The obligations are complex because the system is complex. So there is no way for us to defend a reduction in the course of compliance”, says the executive.

Considered one of the most important and awaited conferences in the industry, the ABES Software Conference is held digital 100%, and will take place until tomorrow, Thursday (16/9).
