It should also be noted that the text encompasses the creation of the National Data Protection Authority, functionally and financially independent, and the National Council for the Protection of Personal Data and Privacy, essential bodies for the operationalization of the future diploma, corroborating the initiative of the Federal Government. At the meeting, the rapporteur of the House&#039;s personal data protection proposals, senator Ricardo Ferra\u00e7o (PSDB-ES), stated that he will put his text to a vote in the commission on July 3rd. A clear and principled data protection law, which balances the central position of the individual with the economic dynamism of a creative and innovation-inclined country such as Brazil, is essential to catalyze competitiveness.<\/div>\n<div>\n\t\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n\t\tThe debates carried out in the two houses of the National Congress, involving public authorities and representatives of academia, civil society and the business sectors, intensified in the last two years, managed to achieve successful convergence and contributed to the composition of the text recently approved in the Chamber of Deputies. Thus, we understand that PLC No. 53\/2018 meets the imperative need for legal certainty for citizens and economic agents. The Senate has a unique opportunity to give Brazil a leading role in terms of data legislation, a fundamental step for the country&#039;s insertion in international forums, as well as providing a safe business environment that enhances the attraction and materialization of investments in the order of R$ 250 billion (Brasscom and Frost &amp; Sullivam) in digital transformation technologies by 2021.<\/div>\n<div>\n\t\t&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n\t\tPLC n\u00ba 53\/2018, now under analysis by the Senate, is considered by the signatories of this manifesto, a text that is in line with the best international practices, balancing the guarantee of individual rights with the induction of new data-intensive business models .
