The Coalition released, on November 10th, a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dev.abes.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/CIRIA-NOTA-PL-2338-final.pdf\"><strong>Letter<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>in which the signatories express \u201ctheir concern regarding the acceleration in the processing of Bill 2338\/23, which seeks to regulate artificial intelligence (AI) in Brazil\u201d and emphasize that regulation must take \u201cinto account the international scenario and the advancement of technology&quot;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">THE<a href=\"https:\/\/dev.abes.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/CIRIA-NOTA-PL-2338-final.pdf\">\u00a0<strong>Letter<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0presents several international activities that are focused on AI regulation, such as the Hiroshima Process, which involves the member countries of the G7, a group of the largest economies in the world, which signaled in Hiroshima (Japan) that they \u201cseek to develop by the end of 2023 a comprehensive policy framework, including general guiding principles for all AI actors.\u201d The text also points to the decree of US President Joe Biden, who signed, on October 30, \u201can extensive executive order directing the regulation of AI in his country, demonstrating the complexity and need for in-depth analysis of the matter. Among other topics, the executive order establishes guidelines for federal agencies. This sectoral regulatory approach, based on multiple guidelines and public policy guidelines, is a good benchmark for Brazil\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the end of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dev.abes.com.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/CIRIA-NOTA-PL-2338-final.pdf\"><strong>Letter<\/strong><\/a>, which can be accessed in full\u00a0<strong>on here<\/strong>, the signatories present 8 requests\/recommendations to the Brazilian parliament:<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIn this sense, we ask the members of the CTIA (the Internal Temporary Commission on Artificial Intelligence), the Senate, and in particular the rapporteur, Senator Eduardo Gomes, to take into account the international scenario and the advancement of technology.
