\nThe balance of ABES monitoring points to a reduction of 8,72% compared to 2017, where a total of 87,716 advertisements, links and sites with illegal content were removed. "This variation shows a decrease in the supply of illegal content available in relation to 2017, but still almost 5% higher than in 2016, where the total removals was 76,273", evaluates Francisco.

\nThe entity accounted for 40,944 links removed for violating intellectual property rights. 43,288 ads promoting pirated products were removed from the air. In addition, the organization was responsible for taking down 77 websites that offered illegal software downloads.

\nABES continuously monitors the internet and directly notifies the e-commerce portals and access providers directly, when it identifies content that violates the intellectual property of its members.

\nThis action aims to protect consumers, who may be exposed to viruses, malware and data hijacking. It also protects consumers who may be violating Brazilian intellectual property laws without knowing it.
